Face taping with CureTape® Beauty

Learn how to apply CureTape Beauty with practical face taping examples, videos and tips.

Face taping, also called beauty taping or cosmetic taping, involves placing small strips of elastic kinesiology tape on selected areas of the face. CureTape Beauty is used for facial taping routines, including applications around the forehead, cheeks, mouth and jawline.

Below, you will find the existing application examples together with guidance on preparation, tape placement and removal. The focus is on understanding the techniques and using the tape gently, rather than promising a particular cosmetic result.

How to apply CureTape Beauty for facial lines

Face taping techniques for the nose and jawline

These videos demonstrate different face taping applications with CureTape Beauty. Watch the placement and direction before trying a technique. Apply the tape gently and remove it slowly, supporting the skin.

How to prepare for face taping

  1. Read the instructions: follow the guidance supplied with your tape, including any advice on skin testing and wearing time.
  2. Prepare the skin: start with clean, dry skin. Oils and heavy creams can affect adhesion.
  3. Measure and cut: adapt the length and width to the application area. Round the corners and leave an uncut base when making fan shapes.
  4. Apply gently: follow the demonstrated direction, using almost no stretch. Leave the ends unstretched and avoid the eyes, eyelids and lips.

Do not apply tape to irritated or damaged skin. Remove it if it causes itching, burning, redness or discomfort. If you are unsure whether facial taping is suitable for you, seek advice before applying it.

Sun-shaped face taping application with CureTape Beauty

Face taping application: “The Sun”

This example uses small strips arranged around the face in a sun-shaped pattern. Cut strips approximately 1 cm wide and 4 cm long, adjusting their size to fit the area shown in the image.

Follow the demonstrated placement from the outside of the face inwards. Apply gently, using almost no stretch, and leave the ends unstretched. The tape should feel comfortable and should not pull strongly on the skin.

Follow the product instructions for wearing time rather than automatically leaving a new application on overnight.

CureTape Beauty placement for forehead and facial lines

Face taping application for forehead and facial lines

The image shows several placements for facial lines. You can practise one area at a time rather than applying every strip at once. Use almost no stretch and avoid the eyelids and lips.

  • Forehead: follow the illustrated placement from the hairline downwards.
  • Outer eye area: position the strips as demonstrated, keeping them away from the eyelids.
  • Beside the nose: follow the illustrated placement towards the corner of the mouth without covering the lips.
  • Chin: follow the demonstrated direction towards the lower face, without pulling the skin tightly.

Use the videos alongside the images to understand the placement. Ask a trained practitioner if you are unsure about a technique.

Fan-shaped face taping application for marionette lines

Face taping application for marionette lines (corner of mouth to jawline)

This example uses a fan-shaped strip for the lower face. Measure the area shown in the image and cut the tape into three narrow tails, leaving an uncut base.

Following the demonstration, place the base near the ear without stretch. Gently position the cheek and lay each tail towards the area beside the corner of the mouth, using almost no stretch. Do not use the tape to force the skin into a tightly lifted position.

Adjust the length to suit your face and keep the tape clear of the lips.

Why CureTape Beauty is used for facial taping

CureTape is used by physiotherapists and other professionals for a range of kinesiology taping applications. CureTape Beauty is the option developed for beauty taping, with elastic, breathable cotton and a gentle adhesive layer.

For the examples on this page, the wider CureTape Beauty 5cm x 5m roll offers flexibility when cutting narrow strips or fan shapes. Choose the strip size to match the technique and the area of your face.

How face taping interacts with the skin

Beauty taping places elastic strips directly on the skin. The position, direction and amount of stretch influence how an application feels. A comfortable application should allow normal facial movement without strong pulling or tightness.

Different techniques are used in beauty and professional treatment settings. The examples here explain placement; they do not establish that taping reverses skin ageing or produces lasting wrinkle reduction.

How skin ages

Skin changes over time, and facial lines can become more noticeable. Face taping is one technique used in cosmetic routines, but it should not be presented as a way to stop the ageing process.

How do wrinkles form?

Facial lines are associated with a combination of skin changes and repeated expressions. The forehead, eye area and corners of the mouth are common areas of interest in beauty taping. These are also delicate areas where careful placement and removal matter.

Face taping techniques and the appearance of ageing skin

Tape in the right direction and use the right taping technique

Before applying a strip, look closely at the starting point and direction shown in the demonstration. Measure the tape for your own face instead of copying a strip length without checking the fit. Apply the base and ends without stretch and avoid pulling the skin tightly.

Face taping, collagen and elastin: what can you expect?

Beauty taping is sometimes described as stimulating collagen and elastin. The application examples on this page are not evidence for those claims, and increased collagen production or lasting skin firming should not be assumed.

Combining face taping with facial massage

Some people include facial massage or connective tissue massage in the same beauty routine. If you are working with a trained practitioner, ask how to coordinate the techniques and when to apply the tape. Massage oils or creams remaining on the skin can affect adhesion.

Expression lines and face taping with CureTape Beauty

Expression lines are associated with repeated movements such as smiling, frowning and raising the eyebrows. The application images show how tape can be positioned around some of these areas.

Facial taping techniques vary. More complex applications require an understanding of facial anatomy, so ask a trained practitioner to demonstrate them rather than increasing tape tension or combining unfamiliar techniques yourself.

Face taping for sagging skin, thinning skin and facial swelling

Applications around the cheeks, jawline and chin are common in beauty taping. Tape placement should not be confused with a permanent lift or a treatment for thinning skin. Delicate skin needs particular care during application and removal.

Facial lymphatic taping is a separate professional application. Unexplained swelling or swelling after a procedure should be assessed by a qualified healthcare professional rather than treated using a cosmetic taping example.

CureTape Beauty fan strips positioned under the chin

Face taping application under the chin

This example shows two fan-shaped strips positioned along the jawline and under the chin. Measure the application area and cut each piece into three tails with an uncut base. For a smaller area, a narrower fan with two tails may be easier to position.

Apply the base without stretch, then place the tails one at a time as shown in the image. Use almost no stretch and avoid tight or compressive placement around the neck.

This is a taping example for the chin area, not a method for removing fat or permanently eliminating a double chin.

Double chin and CureTape Beauty

The under-chin example illustrates tape placement in this area. It does not demonstrate fat loss or permanent reshaping of the jawline. Focus on comfortable placement and follow a practitioner’s advice for techniques involving the neck.

Does face taping with CureTape Beauty have a slimming effect?

Face tape should not be described as a weight-loss or fat-reduction product. Cosmetic taping techniques are used around facial contours, but this is different from reducing body fat or guaranteeing a slimmer face.

How long will the effect of face taping be visible?

There is no guaranteed cosmetic result or fixed timeline. The examples on this page do not establish lasting wrinkle reduction, skin firming or facial reshaping. Avoid increasing wearing time or tape tension in an attempt to obtain faster results.

How to remove face tape

Remove the tape slowly, keeping it close to the skin and supporting the skin with your other hand. Do not pull it sharply away from the face. Follow the product instructions; if recommended, use a suitable oil to help loosen the adhesive, keeping it away from the eyes.

Frequently asked questions about face taping

Which tape is used for the applications on this page?

The examples use CureTape Beauty. The 5cm x 5m face tape roll can be cut into different strip widths and fan shapes. See the product page for specifications, current pricing and availability.

How much stretch should I use?

The examples use almost no stretch. Keep the base and ends unstretched and follow the demonstrated technique. More tension does not mean a better application.

Can I leave face tape on overnight?

Follow the instructions supplied with the product and any individual advice from your practitioner. Do not automatically leave a first application on overnight, and remove the tape if it becomes uncomfortable.

Can face tape irritate the skin?

Even a gentle adhesive can cause a skin reaction. Follow the product’s skin-testing advice, avoid irritated or damaged skin and stop using the tape if you notice a reaction.
