What is rigid sports tape?
Rigid sports tape, also known as athletic tape or strapping tape, is a strong, non-elastic tape used to limit unwanted movement and provide additional support during physical activity. Unlike kinesiology tape, rigid tape does not stretch. This makes it particularly suitable for applications where firm fixation and stability are required.
Rigid athletic tape is commonly applied around areas such as the ankles, wrists, fingers and thumbs. It can be used during strength training, climbing, martial arts, team sports and other demanding activities.

Choose the right width of athletic tape
FASCIQ Athletic Sports Tape is available in three widths. The best choice depends on the body area, taping technique and amount of coverage required.2.5 cm rigid sports tape
The narrow 2.5 cm tape is suitable for smaller areas and more precise taping applications. It is commonly used around fingers, thumbs, hands and wrists. Choose the 2.5 cm 3-roll pack for occasional or individual use, or select the 2.5 cm professional cylinder when you use athletic tape regularly.3.8 cm rigid sports tape
The 3.8 cm width is a versatile choice for sports taping. It provides a practical balance between precise application and sufficient coverage. This width is frequently used for ankles, wrists and general strapping applications. It is available as a 3.8 cm 3-roll pack and as a larger 3.8 cm cylinder pack.5 cm rigid sports tape
The wider 5 cm athletic tape covers larger areas efficiently and is suitable for broad taping applications around joints and larger body areas. Choose the 5 cm 3-roll pack for personal use or the 5 cm professional cylinder for treatment rooms, sports clubs and frequent use.Strong adhesion during sports and training
FASCIQ Rigid Sports Tape has been developed to remain securely in place during demanding activities. The dependable adhesive helps maintain the selected taping construction during training and competition. Despite its strong adhesion, the tape is designed for comfortable use and clean removal. For the best adhesion, always apply the tape to clean, dry and intact skin without creams, oils or perspiration.Easy to tear by hand
The zigzag edge makes the tape easy to tear by hand, so scissors are not normally required. This allows athletes, trainers and therapists to work quickly in the gym, on the sports field or in the treatment room. The tape can easily be divided into shorter strips or adapted to the required application. This makes FASCIQ Athletic Sports Tape a practical choice for both planned treatments and quick taping before physical activity.Made from breathable cotton
FASCIQ Rigid Sports Tape is made from 100% cotton. The material feels comfortable against the skin while providing the strength required for firm sports taping. Its microporous structure allows air to pass through the material. The tape is latex-free and suitable for a wide range of sports and professional applications. People with sensitive skin should always test a small piece of tape before completing a full application.Rigid sports tape for athletes and professionals
Our athletic sports tape can be used by individual athletes as well as physiotherapists, sports therapists, coaches, personal trainers, climbing centres and sports clubs. The smaller 3-roll packs are convenient for personal use, while the larger cylinder packs provide an economical solution for professionals who use rigid tape regularly. Rigid sports tape is used to provide firm, non-stretch support during sports and physical activity. It can help limit unwanted movement around areas such as the ankles, wrists, fingers and thumbs. The tape is commonly used by athletes, trainers, physiotherapists and sports therapists.
Rigid sports tape does not stretch and is designed to provide firm fixation and stability. Kinesiology tape is elastic and moves with the body. Choose rigid athletic tape when you want to restrict movement or create a supportive taping construction. Choose kinesiology tape when flexibility and freedom of movement are more important.
The most suitable width depends on the body area and taping technique:
- 2.5 cm rigid sports tape: suitable for fingers, thumbs, hands and other precise applications.
- 3.8 cm rigid sports tape: a versatile width for wrists, ankles and general sports taping.
- 5 cm rigid sports tape: suitable for larger areas and applications that require wider coverage.
Yes. The zigzag edge allows the cotton tape to be torn easily by hand. This means you can quickly create strips of the required length without using scissors.
Apply the tape to clean, dry and intact skin. Make sure the skin is free from creams, oils, perspiration and dirt, as these can reduce adhesion. Apply the tape using an appropriate taping technique and avoid wrapping it too tightly.
Remove the tape slowly and carefully in the direction of hair growth. Support the skin with one hand while gently rolling the tape away with the other. A suitable tape remover spray can be used to make removal more comfortable and help remove remaining adhesive.
Rigid sports tape can be used as part of a supportive taping application, but it does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional when you have persistent pain, swelling, reduced mobility or a suspected injury. Do not apply the tape to open, damaged or irritated skin.
